People aren't defined at all. You try to maximize meaning or pleasure or whatever while you're alive then you die and you no longer exist. Like there's no longer a thing that is you from any perspective, and at that point nothing you did matters.

But, yeah, obviously money isn't some objective measure of your worth as a person or the value of your life. Money is just a means to an end.
