Overheard me mom talkin about what her and her friends talked to me gran and she was talkin about how one of her friends sons (my age) has a girlfriend who lives in blahblahblah and what job he has n stuff

This is brutal cuz this means that my mom's friends must've asked about me and I've never had a girlfriend or a job loooooool. Awkward.

What do you genuinely think my mom would've said when her friends asked about me? What do you say in that situation? Fuckin embarrassing.

They will blame you for your shortcomings. A childs success is considered reflection of the parents skills. If their child is a failure (could be their fault, might be the childs fault) they probably aren't going to accept responsibility for them. Atleast in a moment where they are discussing matters with other parents.
