I can’t understand whether I am not lean enough to see my abs, or my muscles are too skinny to pierce through my abdomen skin?

Currently 72kg@177cm manlet


I am already very lean, I have very vascular arms (even guy at the gym commented on how vascular I am). This is no pump picture, on pump it obviously is even better:

Also I managed to build some muscle mass too throughout months (natty so don’t laugh, but I can deadlift 105kg, I bench 55kg for 4x8 reps and do 65kg squats and 32,5kg OHP both for reps so I am not COMPLETELY skinny Minecraft skeleton tier okay)


Yet I still cannot see my 4pack at very least:

I am 16 hours into my third in lifetime 72h water fast. I also have very lean face to a point of hollowing in cheeks area so idk.

You might need to bulk a little and build ur abs up. But thats probably not worth it

No way I'd have to lose 7kg of fat, that's huge
During this 72hr waterfast I should drop like 800-1000g of pure fat (2600kcal maintenance for me)


You might need to bulk a little and build ur abs up. But thats probably not worth it
i don't want to do big bulks, i want to be lean 24/7 and build muscle slowly with small surplus

7kg of weight, you lose a lot fow ater as you cut also, Ive found generally speaking 1.5kg of weihgtlooss is roughly equivalent to 1% bodyfat from my cuts.

so youve got 5% to lose = 7.5kg.

Trust me on thsi from someone whos been trhrough multiple cuts, youve always got more weight to lose than you think

i've done two 72h water fasts before in my life. It requires shaolin monk willpower, especially when there is a big chocolate behind you on a shelf (like right now behind me).

But if you look at this like that:
72h waterfast = 7500 calorie deficit for me
7500 calorie deficit on regular -400kcal cut = 18 days of cutting

it's better to have 3 days of agony, instead of 18 days of irritation, being hungry as fuck, cravings for food, isn't it?

Most of the time, when cutting, people way underestimate how much they have to lose or overestimate how much muscle they have.

Just keep on going with the cut, on the pic where you're squeezing your belly, its obvious you are not lean enough. Results will show in time.

If you want better ab definition, definitely do some isolation on top of your main workout. Compounds are good for keeping ab muscle mass, not growing it.

Bench: 92.5kg (was when I weighed 67kg)
Squat:120kg (no belt haven't tested since I was 65kg
OHP: 55kg

Currently I weigh 68kg trying to get to 72.5kg with same.bosyfat as current.

its not that bad according to https://strengthlevel.com/strength-standards/deadlift I am just Novice level, which is correct because I lift for maybe 5-6months and started from empty barbell on bench/squat.

You need to train abs more. If your thin and you don't have abs your probably skinny fat. Don't try and cut down. Train abs hard with a high protein diet and you should start seeing them.

Your last resort get a high definition liposuction.

55kg bench for 4x8 is what I was doing at 60kg. I do 3x10 on 70kg bench so you are quite far apart. But I do have good genetics (I'm an ecto-meso) and have only been training for 6 months

guys bigger than me I see are doing mostly 60-80kg for reps, some outliers do 90kg+, so I think 55kg for reps isn't that bad for someone who never worked out in his life before.

But i'd much rather have shredded obliques, abs and serratus, than benching 100kg+

if you're gonna cut you're going to need to eat more protein than when you're bulking to retain any muscle you already have, it's either recomp or bulking because you barely have any muscle on you pal

you look good rn, you've got a lean and tight body (no excessive body fat in your stomach or some skinny fat belly), that's more than enough for girls, imo.
