"Although the average person uses about 2,000 calories each day, the explorers in Antarctica may have burned as many as 7,00010,000 calories per day. By the end of their journey, they had basically no carbohydrates left to eat, existing on mainly seal, penguin, and seaweed."

1kg of fat has about 7,700 calories in it, you could eat maintenance and keto (to burn fat efficiently and not die)
and almost a kilo a day
this is actually insane

brb going to explore Antarctica, because hmm, aliens

It's not only because of cold. Walking a lot does that to you. Try walking everyday for hours and do HIIT daily as well, you'll get fit in no time. With perfect diet and no sports you might get down to 13% body-fat, but you'll really need to do sports to get to 8%.

walking 1 hour only burns 80-100 calories, walking is a meme exercise for weight loss since it also makes you more hungry and more
likely to eat extra,
its only good for the mental benefits

Your math is off.

First of all, walking doesn't only burn extra 80-100 kilocalories per hour. For me, at 85kg and at 6.4km/h, walking burns 440 kilocalories per hour EXTRA.

Second of all, when you're dragging heavy equipment you burn way more kilocalories. Especially since the weight is on your upper body and not the legs themselves, an extra 20-30kg might make you burn 50% kilocalories more.

Third of all, walking on snow is much harder than walking on normal ground.

Also walking is great for losing weight because it doesn't stress your body as much, you move a lot which increases circulation and your adrenal doesn't get stimulated which means no cortisol excess like from working out too much.

Good news for flat earthers trying to find the edge.
