Been on a bulk for 6 months now and I'm starting to get a little fat because of christmas

Is it a good idea to run a 3 week strict cut for ~2-3kg fat loss?

How will this effect my hormones when I transition back to bulking tbh good idea or not?

Yeah it is. Don't go into such a heavy deficit tho, -200-300 cals would be better. Main purpose would be getting insulin sensitivity in check again

What kinda broscience bullshit is this?

200-300 cal deficit is 1.5 lbs of fat loss in three weeks. Complete waste of time. OP could just go in 1000 cal deficit, drop 6 lbs of fat and be very noticeably leaner. Youre not losing strength or muscle in such a short time frame.

Insulin sensitivty is fucking irrelvent for people who lift, and dont have diabetes.

Idk, I personally haven’t done a conventional bulk in like 2 years

I have an unorthodox approach to nutrition and believe that I can build muscle and lose fat at the same time (using my bodyfat for energy by being fat adapted). So I just eat around maintenance all year round and change my body composition during the process

This is also why I dont "bulk" anymore.

As long as youre patient, you can eat in a 250 cal surplus, ride it out, then once that becomes your maintenance, recomp at that weight. Once your lifts stall for some time, add 250 cals, and repeat.
