So my Bimax consultation got delayed to the 1st of december. I thought I would use the next couple of days to create some questions. Pictures below, please try and ignore my discoloured teeth and awful haircut. They are subhuman and my enamel didn't form properly so they are permanently discoloured. I will try more aggressive teeth whitening solutions. Veneers + trimax + braces are too expensive for me. I need to buy a house ffs.
I will probably add some PSL autism to this (line theory, FWHR etc) to this later.
Questions I can think of:
Cost/funding. I will ask for a quote for bimax + genioplasty and also how they want to recieve payment for the surgery.
Outline of surgery procedures and movements. What I expecet is a 3 piece lefort 1, BSSO and a genioplasty. Maybe SAPRE but the orthodonist offered me a quad helix epander. Apparently its simillar to MSE except the helix expander is preloaded, so I don't have to turn the device manually. I am unsure of the exact movements so I will take notes of what he says and compare it to what a more reputable maxfac surgeon says in the future.
I will also ask if they perform distraction osteogenesis because this appears to be the ideal orthoganic surgery (I really fucking doubt it but worth a shot).
Recovery time and hospital fee's. I would assume it would be included in the quoted cost, but I don't want any nasty suprises.
Nerve Damage, complications and bone reabsorbtion. I would ask what I could do and what they would do to minimise the risk of these occurring. I would also enquire about revision surgeries (but I really donn't want any revision surgeries.).
Cheekbone arguementations discuss if they do custom implants for better undereye support and defined cheekbones. I think I will be looking for a custom submalar implant, but I will do more research.
Ask for previous results/pictures (I will post them here).
Concerns about a gummy smile post operation. If I didn't have an open bite I would have a gummy smile. Im assuming during a 3 piece lefort 1 they will bring the midsection of my upper jaw down to align with my lower jaw. I am unsure what causes a gummy smile but I know its not particuarly aesthetic. Although based on this picture my FWHR ratio is decent (although I am convinced irl I have a longer midface, idk).
Their personal opinion and vision for optimal facial aesthetics. Important question, I need to know the surgeon has a simillar vision to me.
Anymore questions to ask or is this enough?
