What do you mean by fuck up? Feel worse how?
If you mean irritated skin, redness, itchiness, thats probably more to do with your activities around/associated with shaving than the actual method of shaving itself.
First of all, electric or blade. Electric is probably superior in every way, from convenience, to clean up, to versatility, apart from if you have flawless skin and want that really close smooth hairless shave, a straight razor is better.
- Make sure the razor is clean
- Go in the direction of growth, not against the grain
- Clean your face and gently exfoliate after
Shaving in a clean environment and making sure your face is clean both before and after shaving should solve most problems. Gl

depends if your going over the same spots too often. but if not I think they might be less irritating then razors

What I've read is that it takes a couple months for the skin to adjust. I prefer normal razors though.
