Are charities scams? Are they really just to profit off people?

I remember my brother saying when he worked for a charity as a fundraiser , essentially holding out a bucket for people to put money in. At the end of the day the people there would just keep the money.

Most main stream ones are big scams with over-head costs of 85-95% (that are being given out as salaries and bonuses to their managers)

Yes, back when Romania was poor, charities all over the world used our name to allegedly help us.
"Give money for Romania!", "Help the Romanian orphans!" they would yell, but they didn't give us anything.
A small quantity of stuff like clothes, shoes, books, toys, electronic gadgets, etc. eventually arrived, but they were quickly taken by corrupt government officials or Romanian charity workers for themselves and their families, the poor, needy people didn't receive anything.
Back then, it was even a status symbol to be dressed with clothes from charity, it meant you or your family were important people with connections, and having western clothes on you, even if they were used would make you look classy...

There must counterexamples to the narrative in this thread. But I have no doubt there‘s some truth to this

Logically there is no counter examples , all charities function as businesses with staff salaries , rent , overhead bills ect, these all got to come from somewhere and it will be from the donations and sales from donated goods.

Just a side note I remember when I went to an event to raise money for charity when I was a blue pilled cuck, one the girls said to me I "looked like a gremlin and was lucky to be around them" after that I never worked or donated to any charity again :feelsbadman: (True story)

When I was 6 years old my school organised a charity event to help Romania, they asked us to bring in pasta, tins of food and warm clothes.

I hope the stuff I donated helped Romanian families…

I don't know, I personally didn't get anything, where do you even sign up to receive charity, they all want stuff but who gets it isn't very clear and transparent...

Just because an organization is non-profit or a charity, doesn't mean that nobody gets paid. They just spend all the money on salaries and like 1% of it actually goes to the cause.

probably goes into the pocket of someone and paid workers for the most part

i remember some corner store owners putting out fake donation scams

they have a jaw that says donation for x but they just end up keeping the money for themselves
