afghan isnt really central asian though, technically they are central/south rather than straight up central

There a shit ton of tajik and uzbek there though not so much Punjabi maybe in the south

yeh tajiks, uzbeks, turkmens etc could be classified as central asians. but they are all minorities in afghanistan. as far as i know there arent really any punjabis in afghanistan. its a bit odd to classify afghanistan as central asia but pakistan as south asia when the largest afghan ethnic group also live in pakistan and that too in a number thrice as big

the largest ethnic group compromises 42% of the population, tajiks make up 27% of the population and those two you mentioned are both around 8-10%. plus tajiks are - despite being central asian - actually caucasians. so there are more caucasians in afghanistan than there are mongoloids (hazaras, tajiks, uzbeks, turkmens)
