In the 21st century 80% of people are born an incel. Most people get a gf by chance alone or through social circles. Even if your an average guy you could live your life and no girl would ever happen to fall into your lap unless if you are lucky. For 20-10% of guys getting women was always easy and for the next 40-50% it's a serious struggle the bottom 20-30% have nearly no hope. This wasn't the case before the 70's now with the deregulated sexual market place and disruptive technology made this far worse. It really has more to do with the time period we are living in.

Agreed but it's just because back when travelling wasn't as easy as today (everyone has a car) women born in a city would marry a guy in the same city atleast decently close to her at a walkable distance... imagine when there werent even smartphones (I'm thinking of my grandparents for example)...
Nowadays it's completely different an ugly incel can be incel for his whole life unless he try hards a lot unlike the past....
This explains also the high divorce rate % in the time we live
