Do braces improve anything else besides teeth?

Besides teeth, do braces do anything to improve a recessed jaw, maxilla, etc.
 
No. Braces only shift teeth to fix the occlusion and since it's extremely low risk and quick to place braces on someone, orthodontists are notorious for avoiding jaw surgery unless you have a massive overbite, underbite, openbite, etc. If you have orthodontic appliances like headgear or other devices, those can move the jaw in patients that are still growing.

My retard orthodontist moved my jaws back and gave me sleep apnea

My retard orthodontist moved my jaws back and gave me sleep apnea
my dentist fixed my underbite, moved my alveolar bone on my top jaw forward, now I can breath thru my nose, my teeth are straight, I can now mew and have space in my mouth for my tongue, and I can close my jaw further fixing my long chin.. got another year+ to go hope it can fix more things, my teeth were severely fucked

I didn't notice any changes in my face at all. been wearing it for over a year now
