Every year the last week of the Tour de France coincides with the British Open Golf Championship. The two most important European sporting events of the year!
I know they no longer call it the British Open, but "The Open Championship", I am old and set in my ways, and I find "open championship" to be pretentious. TBH, I wonder why it was ever called the British Open to begin with, I mean the most commonly played course in the rotation is in Scotland.
