This is what i think too, it truly is over if I lose my hair. People use the 'chemically castrated' reason as to not use fin but they dont realise that if your bald, you'll be subjected to different treatment by society as a whole.

exactly, plus you WILL be castrated anyway once you go bald, just in a way such that females will refuse to have sex with you

I am almost 23, slightly receded. I am saving up for a HT and i may start using finesteride at 24/25. This is my objective atm. Thoughts?

After hair transplant you will need to use fin anyway as the donor hair is dht resistant, meaning if you ever start seriously balding in the future you will be left with a hair island at the front of your head. But yeah, if you are planning on getting a hair transplant in the future getting your body used to fin will be a good idea

Impossible to know. You can generally expect to get a decrease in hair loss. If it halts most of your hair loss, you will probably be safe for a few years, if not longer. Some people keep their hair for a decade while on finasteride or dutasteride. Others lose the effect after 2 years or so. Genetics always win out but it can buy time if a permanent solution to hair loss will eventually appear.

Do it now. Your HT surgeon will want you on it as well.. many studies show Finasteride massively increases acceptance of the new follicles. Otherwise they are susceptible to shock loss.. Also HT isn't a cure you will still be balding BEHIND the new transplanted hair. You'll have to keep getting HTs until your donor region is depleted just to keep up with that.

I don't need a HT. 3 or 4 years. Yes actually most of it grew back and to everyone else I have a full head of hair and they think I'm nuts or paranoid when I tell them I'm on hair loss drugs. I caught it early when it just started to be visible w/ certain hair styles or lighting. Diffuse thinning not receding.

Also I dermaroll + use minoxidil and was on RU + Dut for like 2 years so I'm not really a good "fin only" case. I got off RU because it's expensive and Dut because lost supplier and don't trust anyone else.. also expensive and both makes traveling a bit difficult. RU needs to be mixed and used quickly, don't buy the prebottled crap it's junk.

Didn't lose any gains or whatever when I got off them and been off a year with no noticeable hair loss progression. Considering hopping on RU again though because there's a constant fear that I'll wake up one day and it's visibly balding again. That shit will never go away.. the damage it did to my psyche is incalculable. Only getting older so need to up my protection or will start losing the battle again.. still no cures yet.

Never had any sides from anything.
