Kojima has always been a hack. He's a dork who wanted to be a film director, and somehow wound up directing videogames instead. All his ideas were stolen from the films he grew up with, the Tarantino of the videogame industry. mgs1 is such a blatant ripoff of escape from New York that I'm surprised John carpenter wasnt banging on the door of konami demanding royalties.
Anyway when kojima was working under konami, his worst tendencies and self indulgence was kept in check and konami big cheeses made sure he knew he was a videogame making dork, not the Japanese Sergio Leone. When kojima went solo all his fanboys were like omfg now we get to see his unfettered genius!! Welp here it is fags, hope its everything you dreamed of.
