Having tooth pain. What do I need to know about getting my lower two wisdom teeth removed?

So my lower left side tooth is impacted and in my nerve, I didn’t want to get them removed but now I guess I have no choice.

I had my upper two removed and had no complications and my dentist did it with no sedation and it went great but the lower ones have the issues with being impacted and close to the nerve so I will need anesthesia.

How do I find a good oral surgeon and what do I need to discuss with them? I’m worried about possible nerve damage and bone resorption.

Would it be possible to only remove the left side one and get an implant? My jaw is already really small I don’t think I could risk any bone resorption / shrinkage.
