how do you get socially successful from nothing?

title. I think i've met the looks threshold, but Im unable to make meaningful friendships with anyone due to everyone I know at school already making cliques with one another. I don't really have any social standing and I feel like there's nobody there for me. Just meaningless conversations that go nowhere.

Talking to people in lessons like the person sitting next to you is good because then it's mandatory and it's not like just going up to a guy randomly and just suddenly wanting to be friends with him

yeah, it sorta works but sometimes i run into blockages, like people wont reciprocate
