How does me wanting to looksmaxx and taking plastic surgeries to ascend make me a narcissist?

Many people I have talked to think that it's narcissistic for me to wanting to looksmaxx and take plastic surgeries to ascend. I mean, how can it be? I just to do it to be able to go and do as much as approaching girls and TRY to get them without being reported for "sexual harassment" or "unwanted sexual attention", still with the risk of rejection. But they seem to think it's a sign of narcissism. What the fuck is wrong with people? How does wanting to just not be ugly makes one such?
