Up until I was 12 years old, I was actually separated from other people. I lived on a farm in Portugal, and my only daily interactions were with my family (parents and siblings). I wasn’t even online, I got my first phone at 13.
When I finally joined a school at 12, it felt like I was experiencing everything for the first time. I had some trouble making friends at first, but it got easier.
But now I’m 18, and it still feels like I’m 6 years behind everyone else.
Idk what my parents were thinking. I would never ever do this to a kid.
Yes, there may be bad influences early in your life, but isolating a kid from the outside world is the worst solution out there and will bring arguably worse problems.
Does anyone relate to this?
