like how long does the process usually take? from first consultation to surgery date. i've heard people say anywhere from 3 months to 3 years

you just answered your own question

Depends on how long your orthodontics will take. If your bite is perfect you can get the surgery right away but for most people I think it’s atleast a year of orthodontics before you can get your surgery

How though? I had orthodontics and i have a huge overbite still. I already had extractions aswell. I just don’t get how orthodontics could fix my bite

orthodontics won’t fix your bite the surgery will.

when I mentioned bite I didn’t mean underbite/overbite I was talking about crossbite, openbite, etc.

If you have a deepbite/large overbite I don’t think you’d need orthodontics unless your teeth are asymmetrical in their position

when i went to my new ortho he said my bite is basically really good with some deviations like a small open bite/overbite since my braces came off 2 years ago. i've been wearing my retainer so idk how it happened but either way i hope i don't need braces again
