Normal in europe especially since phones were invented.

It kinda depends on location. But in most places, 5-10 years ago this would’ve been a bad sign. Because people, including attractive girls, started random conversations with me all the time, said hi or smiled when walking, made small talk when maybe they didn’t have to, I’m not the most NT but people worked with it. People gave each other attention, sometimes even validation, and the world felt like a way more open and social place.

Now, there’s none of that, at least where I live now the only people I feel like I can talk to are my coworkers. People’s attention spans and social skills are complete dogshit.
