honestly just try it, it's just hair and it'll regrow anyway, a lot of people have oval top parts of their heads but actually look really good cuz of jawline halo (which you could prob pull off), imo 90% of "short on sides" hairstyles look better when they're straight up shaved off completely or near completely

anyway to op #1 definitely, and if since you want to stand out I'd probably just get some kind of different colored tips with main hair darker in your case tbh ngl
