Anxiety isn't a bad thing if it forces you to get things done. But its bad when it relates to things you cannot easily control or if its overwhelming. Social anxiety is usually harmful since overthinking won't fix much.
Easiest way to fix any sort of anxiety is to ironically pursue more of what makes you anxious and improve your ability to do things you dislike. Taking a cold shower helps because it sucks and its mental torture but if you can do it all the way through you will be able to force yourself to do things you dislike in the future. Its never going to go away completely you might have anxiety thats bad forever but if you do painful things enough whatever makes you anxious will seem like less of a big deal. If you do this everyday then your baseline anxiety levels will require more stimulation.
