I know long sob stories aren't popular here, but I'll really appreciate it if you don't leave negative comments.
When I dropped out of school in Grade 9, my whole family started looking at me as the disappointment.
I didn't really care what my family thought about me, but what really hurt was when my mother decided to have a "chat" with me. My mom told me that my father and her have been talking for a while about how disappointed they are at the person I became. She also told me that they have been respectful for me but I don't deserve it. She apologised the next day, but that's when I realised that both of my parents think I'm a failure.
That was my motivation to get a well-paying job; So my parents can be proud of me for once and to be honest I deserved that, because I basically had nothing going for me.
We having a family reunion next week, I can't wait to announce: I now make more money than most of my family.
