I might have a nice son syndrome. I think I was a nice son, not difficult to raise, nice to my parents, yet my parents never showed any sort of compassion to me. Why do other sons who behave bad but still get love from their parents, but I was not shown love? This is unfair!

The therapist I go to told me that it's not normal or healthy to still crave parental validation in your late 20s, you should be emotionally stable enough at that age. She's right. I don't care much about other stuff, I know I'm different from others, but if that problem went away and I could feel better inside, my life would be pretty much okay. I have to understand: You are not entitled to love from your parents only because you were nice.
