I think attractiveness ratings work like movie ratings

Movies are rated on a scale from 1 to 5 or to 10, and some movies have very high rating , like Saving Private Rayan

, while other movies have much lower ratings like Jaws 3

.Yet not everyone will give Private Rayan 8 or 9 stars

And not everyone will give Jaws 3, 3 or 4 stars

Some people will genuiely think Jaws 3 was a decent film while Private Rayan is an "okay" film or shitty one.
It's clearly the same thing for attractiveness , if you take Brad Pitt against your average man, and ask 100 people to rate him based on attractiveness Brad PItt will have a much higher average rating then the average man but SOME people, or women will found Brad Pitt just ok looking and the average man attractive because of their personal preferences , in the same way not all girls think Vinnie Hacker is attractive for instance but the proportion of one that do is higher than for most men.

What I am saying is probably water for a lot of you.

TDLR: I THINK LOOKS ARE NEITHER SUBJECTIVE NOR OBJECTIVE AND THINGS ARE MORE NUANCED.

What matters is that these people exist
It shows that not everyone has the same taste
Works the same with attractiveness

Its like nichemaxxing, some people love war movies, some people love goth sluts, some but a really good war movie will have more appeal, like a really hot total goth slut, but some movies arent as good unless it fits your niche

If by looks you mean strictly the way someone looks like yes , if you mean attractiveness I dont think this is true

Looks aren’t inherently subjective but the way we interpret them is, that is to say what we consider attractive or not.

Who or what even constitutes one facial feature or ratio is “better” than the other completely impartially?
