I was watching Arnett course 1h ago, 0drgree occlusal plane is good, up to 4

Even tho the norm is like 8

What u want is maximise the mandibular sagital space

She was 7 degree occlusale plane , he reduced it to 3

[97 vs 93 cause the reference is frankfort plane so it's like 7 vs 3]

For mandibular plane, it follows your occlusale plane in most the cass, or is like few degree off

Surgeon don't look' at mandibular plane, but occlusal plane

And giving a negative occlusale plane will make saggy skin under chin , that's why perfect is between 0 to 4

thanks so much bro, this makes a lot more sense.

a blackpilled surgeon talked about here that I spoke to wants to do 5 degree CCW to change my occlusal from 5.85 to 0.8

it is worse in the case of another :blackpill: surgeon who said that he will do a full 6 degree CCW but he might have determined my occlusal plane to be higher than 6.

because in the surgical planning both occlusal planes are so close to 0 I am worried that the surgeon will go overboard and do more CCW than planned, essentially make my occlusal plane point negative and point upwards. do you think that this could happen and if so should I ask him to do less, maybe 3-4 degrees CCW, just to be on the safe side?

Just tell him you don't want negative occlusale plane

btw i think both surgeon wanted 0 degree occlusale plane but they got different mesuremeng

When doing 3D planing they will get exactly what they need , i don't think they want to go negative

but if one surgeons measured my occlusal plane as 6 degrees and another as 7, when in reality it is only 6, wouldnt the 2nd surgeon over do the CCW?

No because he mesured it with ceph
So he can get 1mm wrong and be off 1-2 degree

But once he go 3D he will have 100% accurate mesure

Surgeon don't plan DJS using ur ceph, they use 3D to then print the metal

both surgeons used CT scan tho

Just a question. Do Chris evans, Sean Opry, Jordan Barrett, Luke Evans have occlusal planes of less than 5 degrees? seriously...

Bump. My occlusal plane is vertical. Fml
