If you are slightly recessed, go for a chin implant rather than a genioplasty.

Recovery is much better for an implant than an osteotomy. Genioplasty is if youre really recessed according to eppley
and i don't knw about you guys but i definitely trust a board certified surgeon rather than people on here who never actually done surgery before

i see pretty much no need for an implant for your lower third these days tbh.

genios, chin/side wings, lefort, BSSO and fillers do a better job at harmonizing your lower turds.

no one in usa does chin or side wings. and they can be unpredicatble.

how do u know if your jawline and chin are recessed, or if it has proper growth?

genio is better long term but higher risk

how many cm genio can give you?

u can do 12mm if you're really recessed. at that point u probably just need jaw surgery.

also if you find the right surgeon you can widen or narrow your chin

not really recessed, but i want to get as much as i can, of course

Short term recovery is by far superior for chin implant but genio is much superior long term, genio becomes the new shape of your bone, while with chin implant you always have some foreign object that not so uncommonly can get displaced, create irritated, bone erosion or can develop an intolerance for.

whats the recovery for an osteomty? my chin is like 3 millimeters behind lower lip and i franky dont think surgeons would want to do sliding genioplasy just for that

You'll have some numbness in the area that will gradually go away over about a year-long period.

im thinking of doing a chin implant and then doing a wraparound later with the same surgeon. is this a bad idea?

are u fixing ur lip. no point of moving your chin forward if u dont

well yeah im gonna fix the lip thru realigning my teeth with invisalign. Eppley said a lip reduction wouldnt push the lip back. he recommended dental alignmen.
let me know your opinion @mesr

Chin implants don't look or feel natural at all, not to mention the bone resorption that comes with it.

Ye. Get a chin implant. Your future Chad lite self will cry once your implant gets knocked loose by some drunk Mexican that wants your gfs puss

isn't the worst risk of genio lower lip nerver damage? I don't see how that's too big of a risk

also genio recovery is a few weeks only for swelling to disappear according to most surgeons

If you're only slightly recessed go for fillers over anything. Cheaper and no down time. If you are moderately recessed, go for genio. Genio is permanent and your bone will heal where the cuts are made. An implant will never fuse to bone and in some cases can lead to erosion which then requires repositioning.

do people usually get the screws and stuff removed after genioplasty once the bone has settled so there is nothing foreign inside
