Seems high.

you are making a common noob mistake by worrying about losing your abs for a bit when its worth it because in the near future you can cut down again but be having more mass and 6 pack abs and be able to fill out clothes better too

I went to 22% and just cut back down this last month.



I’ve been around 20 % for years while doing progressive overload for years.

I have a kinesiology degree

@softlysoftly is right. u need to do a clean bulk with 200-400 surplus and progressively overload on compound movements. Do it for a solid year or so before cutting again. You’ll have higher smv and look better with more muscle mass. Putting on mass as a natty is painfully slow so consider it an investment and start now

As I just stated I spent the last 2 years of my life bulking at around 20% and doing progressive overload.

At my advanced age it’s unlikely that I’ll put on much more mass as a natty.

I thought Pitt from fight club was enuff muscle

He needs to take tadallafil, train forarms and neck and take vasodilators. Together with cardio and the right nutrition to get as much vascularity as naturally possible.

either maintain your current body fat or cut a little bit more - closer to 10%. dont bulk up if you dont want to.

Does bulking actually work? I thought it was a meme. Also if I'm 22% bodyfat do you think I should bulk, cut, or stay at maintainece calories? I've been lifting for 6 months and idk which way to go.

I would go for a slight cutting period till you hit about 12% but make sure to eat at minimum 1lb of protein per pound of bodyweight and keep the intensity high at the gym
after getting near 12% start a proper bulking phase for at least 1 year straight and aim to increase your strength on all movements

to bulk aim for being in a 250-500 calorie surplus a day so that you gain approx 2-3 lbs per month I wouldn't go faster than this
keep protein at 1g/lb of bodyweight still
Recomp works but it takes much longer especially if natty and if you keep high protein and intensity during the cutting period the fat you lose can actually be used to build muscle and since you are a beginner you could still build some muscle on that cut
