This used to happen to me in middle and high school, whenever I was discussing something with someone, another "friend" came up and said I was wrong even if I wasn't, and take in consideration that the didn't even know what me and the other guy were discussing...
Another example is when we had pair work and the teacher liked something I wrote... guess what, other people in the classroom said it was the idea of my pair, not mine.
Lack of social status sucks!
