In my experience the vast majority of people championing individualism are either ignorant of the damage that they are causing to themselves and society in general, or are simply too selfish to care.

At it's core, individualism is a hypocritical ideology because of one simple reason: It strips future generations of the right to enjoy the same quality of life as current generations. First generation individualists inherit strong social foundations created by past generations such as stable families, healthy replacement birthrates, decent economy etc, and then piss it away with degeneracy and whoredom under the guise of "freedom". Then the second or third generation inherits their bullshit and suffers for it. Confront individualists about this and they will either:

1. Create bullshit excuses for why somehow this doesn't happen.
2. Just repeat their point about how nobody should be able to tell them what to do because "muh freedom".

Fact is these people are bullshitters. Human societies are not self-balancing. They need to be governed, which is not possible with unrestrained freedom.

This is an uncomfortable truth, but I'll be honest you are spot on.
