Is harder to get girls in class room settings than it is at other places?

I hit on about 8 girls in the last 5 years. All unsuccessful. I hit on or asked out 7/8 in a classroom setting.

I was wondering, could I of been less successful because I hit on them in a classroom setting and not a work, party,club or bar setting? Thoughts?
