I cannot afford to move to London since I'm saving up for a home and retirement, plus I'm contributing to our home bills due to the steep rise of living costs. We live in a row of small, semi-detached homes. Opposite us are terraced homes. We're in a much poorer area in an affluent county, and when I drive to the more affluent towns for fun, I sometimes wish I can live comfortably like them.

I just feel I'll be happier if I were closer to my friends who I only get to meet maybe once a month max. I am more likely to meet the girl of my dreams there than in a sleepy town.

You should be investing/saving for financial independence, not retirement. The concept of retirement makes no fucking sense since no one will just sit around waiting to die and want to still keep busy... and by the time you do, you won't have the same energy as you did when you were younger. You should still be enjoying life. Get to a point where you're in the top 20% of income earners and move wherever you like. You'll still have a ton of money left over to both enjoy your youth and invest for financial independence.

Long story short, I was very lonely and depressed which made doing assignments very difficult. I was the only black guy in my course so I felt alienated. Made me even more depressed. Got into a car accident in January this year. Got anxious about going to campus ever since. Didn’t attend any lectures ever since. Failed course work, didn’t bother doing exams.

But yea man forget about me I’m just a loser. Sounds like u got a good group of friends if they visit you. Maybe just organise monthly get togethers or something. If they’re your real friends it won’t matter where you live.
