This is the usual motivation. But I think most of the people on this show are just larping so they can get on TV and possibly become famous. I bet this guy has an instagram or Facebook where he gets validation from decent looking girls just because he was on this show. The guy is far from poor.

I expected this was going to be a 90 Day Fiance thread when I saw the title. The foreign young man getting engaged to an old "wealthy" woman (if they were really wealthy these women would not be on the show) arrangement is actually rare. I think the producers seek out couples like this because it satisfies a demand from the low IQ lonely old woman demographic which makes up most of their viewers.

Yourwetsock is a youtube channel I watch occasionally that does reaction videos to this show. But I barely watch it anymore because everyone on the show now is larping.
