Healthcare was free, electricity was free, education was free. Housing was subsidized. The government would pay half the price of your car. Newly wed couples would receive $50,000 pr $60,000 to buy a home. If you wanted to be a farmer you'd get free land. It had a higher household income in Africa and it was even higher than places like Russia, Saudi Arabia etc. If you couldn't find work or education inside Libya, the government would fund it somewhere else abroad. It was a right to own a home in Libya. Despite the country being the poorest in Africa not long before he took over. It was just tribes. Not to mention he did tremendous help for the rest of Africa, he was the one who built the man made river. Libya's literacy rose from 1/5 people being literate to 83%. He lifted millions out of poverty and provided aid and built dams in other countries. He helped other African countries kick western influence out. Now Libya is in ruins.



He started out an Republican to abolish the monarchy, became a pro Arab Nasser until Nasser died, turned to pro-Africa in the early 1990’s while fighting Chad, converted to an Islamist after failing and died as a Bedouin tribesman in the end, hell of a ride

No larp tbh. The largest cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical bills, people go to the emergency room and have to pay for their emergency operations with a credit card, all of this was free in Libya (free healthcare)
