This is gonna be a bit personal, but for me, my step side of the family always sees me as competition. I don’t feel like I’m at home, they always feel some need to make me look bad.

Same for many guys in my school, most of them act the same way.

Here is the problem with male competition. Although it is a natural thing and men will do it regardless, it is one of the most pointless things in nature. We are living in the most easiest times throughout human history, and it’ll only become more easier as we understand more things.

True in part but this isn't the whole picture.

There are many cases of men on their own, getting along well (maybe with some slight competition and teasing but nothing too hostile). Then when women show up, the most insecure men start acting like dicks to show off, and the rest of the men start to act hostile in response.

Give the average MTN man a loyal woman and a stable life and he is happy. Give the average MTN woman a loyal MTN husband and she feels she's too good for it. I think this is the ultimate root of that feeling of anxiety that a lot of men have about status, stuff like that.
