Let's celebrate the fact that some random dude was born 2018 years ago and tales about him gotten blown out of proportion or even fully invented, and that some were degenerate enough to believe there was a "God"(referring to precisely the one described by Christianity) and that Jesus was his son, and to add to this degeneracy those delusional individuals made sure that the whole planet believed such insanities. They mind-bogglingly managed to do that almost on a worldwide scale for several centuries.
Now to celebrate, let's engage in gift giving as a shared cultural form of mate-retention tactic (otherwise do your partner truly love you? Let's give materialistic things to make up for our impeded ability to express love, or plainly as a deceitful way to fake our love for our partner) and as a discriminatory selfish expression of our kin selection drive, let's delude ourselves about how loving and caring individual we are through the expression of such qualities for the people around us, even though part of it is driven by our ego to portray oneself as a generous/loving/kind individual which is at his root egoistical and/or looking for reciprocal altruism/social support in return. Let's forget about the evolutionary mismatch of the overabundance of fat/sugary food which their overconsumption leads to health problems and use as an excuse the fact that it is Christmas holidays to engage in gluttony. All of which while kids are starving in third world countries, but hey we are all such loving and caring individuals. Let's also forget about the severity of global warming and collectively shamelessly overconsume and pollute like no other time of the year at the detriment of future generations influenced in part by brands dogmatic materialistic propaganda marketing tactics which are exploitative of several forms of unconscious naturally selected tendencies for corporates profit.
Merry Christmas fellow humans!
