The only way to measure recession is with the frankfurt plane:

Notice the point at which the horizontal line is drawn from.

So many of the people you think of as attractive (I.e. Henry cavill) are not actually forward grown. Cavill has a string brow and deep set eyes, which give off the illusion of more forward growth. Before any of you lazycels comment that I'm wrong, try it. Rotate a pic of cavill so that a horizontal 90 degree line is drawn at the points on the pic above.

Now I have already discussed in a thread that there are some slight inaccuracies with this method, like where exactly to draw the line under the eye. But these minor issues do not take away from the fact that this is by far the best way to compare recession.

Also, this is only a way of measuring relative recession. It doesnt mean everyone is as recessed as it looks by the vertical line - as this head posture is tilting down.

Also, where the picture is taken from affects how forward grown the face looks:

It looks like as if u think the tragus should be at the same vertical position as the nose. It should be at the orbitale, most pics u used are shit too btw.

so basically the topmost part of the ear hole and the bottommost part of the orbit should be at the same vertical position.

Used it on cavill again, not on the nose but at where I could see the eyeball starts.

His starts here, so the orbitale must be there.

Now using that method it would still mean he is not recessed

Sorry I was getting mixed up thinking glabella and nasion were the same. Yes, I mean that alar facial crease area should be in line with the nasion. Compare the original image vs my morph and you'll see what I mean. I didnt know the name of that part
