If you ever get fat more than a year it will be a life long struggle just to maintain. Never get fat. It damages your metabolism permanently. Studies show that after 100 lb weight loss, those that lost that weight had to eat 400 k less than those at the same weight who were never fat. Just to maintain that. It's a lifelong curse

Over for fatcels

400k kcal are 100 lb though , it makes no sense

They lose a lot of lean mass from dieting down so long, so they have lower BMR's at a healthy weight than most other people at that weight because they're basically skinny-fat. Lean tissue needs more energy to maintain than adipose tissue.

? I mean 400 calories less. So the former obese individual would probably only be able to comsume 1500 calories, vs 1900 for normal weight.

Nope this accounts for people who incorporate strength training and daily exercise.

I heard there was a study on how obese parents can pass genes onto their kids which make them more susceptible to obesity too, but once they get to a healthy weight that susceptibility is lost.

Also been listening to your song btw OP.

I just read the study and it's due to lack of exercise/caloric expenditure above resting rate after losing weight, you have to just keep working out and you're fine

Has only 10% to do with resting metabolism

The pre-eminence of NREE - accounting for as much of 85–90% of the decline in TEE below predicted values in weight-reduced subjects 20, 22 could be due to declines in the actual amount of physical activity performed.

I used to be fat until last year and i always used to cope how there is always something at fault except me, i blamed it on eating at night, slow metabolism, genetics, i had no idea what carbs, proteins or fats were, no idea how calories work, i used to torture myself by running 2 weeks and feeling like shit thinking how that will make me lose weight while afterwards i would go buy soda with 800 calories and eat like my fat ass regularly used to, and then i would quickly abandon the plans of running because i hated it (still do) and i would give up on trying to lose weight. I used to think that if i ate something that had DIET stamped on it and that if i threw out candies i would magically lose weight. The moment i got actually serious about losing weight i calculated my tdee, learned about nutrition & nutritional values of food and just started to count calorie intakes in my head every day. I managed to shed 30 kilograms like nothing in 9 months becoming skinny after years and there was barely any cardio except some occasional walking from there to there. It's really not that hard to maintain or lose weight you just have to have will, discipline and most importantly you have to know what you are doing.

Until they come up with something, pretty much. Although there are a handful of people who have beaten the odds. They're dead, lol

You still have to push harder than the average person who was never fat. Thats the whole point.

No, because if you burn less energy and also eat less, it's not like you're hungry or anything
