Oppenheimer is boring and isn't about anything until the last hour

First two hours are legit a wikipedia article on oppenheimers life. You get that he likes physics and fucking, but you learn nothing else about him as a character. It's only in the last hour that it becomes clear the movie isn't about Oppenheimer, but interpretations of Oppenheimer. Nolan makes him a cipher in the first two hours so you have what other people say about oppenheimer to go off of. Someone calls him a martyr, another says crybaby, another thinks he's an ego maniac. Meanwhile, Cillian Murphy just mutely looks into the camera with a neutral expression. Neat idea I guess, but not worth waiting so long to get to. Nolan clearly wants you to watch this multiple times. But, fuck man, I'm not spending 6+ hours to appreciate that things can be interpreted in multiple ways. I know that shit already. Too much work for such a simple payoff. No wonder Barbie killed this 3 hour wikipedia article.
