Palet expansion

Hey guys, I've been thinking about getting a palate expander, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money or what the real pros and cons are. I've attached a front photo of myself and a picture of my upper palate. If anyone has experience with palate expanders or is knowledgeable about the topic, I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts. What are the main benefits and drawbacks, and do you think it's something I should consider?
I just turned 17 yesterday, if that makes any difference.

i get aggressive when we make out mustve pierced his palate
