People with severe social anxiety are NOT always autistic.

In everyday society, people usually mistake social anxiety for autism. An autist just doesn't know how to fit in with everyday society. They say stupid shit, can't read the room, behave awkwardly, etc. A good example of an autist is this kid right here. Someone with social anxiety is someone who is afraid to speak to people, is shy about interacting with strangers, feels like everyone is judging him, is embarrassed of little things, etc.

2 different things. Autism is a genetic condition. Social anxiety is often the result of unresolved trauma. A lot of you have social anxiety due to unresolved trauma. Get it resolved.

The big problem with SAD atleast for me is I've had SAD since I was 7 due to my childhood.

SO even if I fixed it I would have no social skills or understanding of how people actually talk to one another because in the last 20 years of my life 13 of those years I have went about minimising my communication with others and probably had 5 friends in those whole years, and maybe spoke to other people 50-100 times a year tops.

I need to be re-introduced to society or some shit tbh.

That's a good point that I agree with. But there are other tangible benefits to fixing your social anxiety disorder. Such as also fixing your depression. Depression often accompanies social anxiety disorder, and uncovering that unresolved trauma is a key to at least coping/fixing depression.

That sucks man. I'm not a psychologist so can't really comment. This thread was more to state that they are often mixed up. Of course one can have autism and also have social anxiety.

Yep definetly, I do agree with you fixing SAD is a very important thing and has its benefits in building new friendships and connections, which are usually not present in people with SAD which is probably the main cause for the depression.

Im in the process of fixing my SAD tbh but its a long process.

yes it sucks. i wish i was taller than 6´5 and better looking. i could atleast have some niche appeal to girls who like tall guys. but i´m just barely above average height, face and dick. that´s not enough to overcome my mentall illnesses. all girls just want guy who can talk to them and enjoy life. they don´t want sufferer.

I'm gonna be honest here. Even if you did have that niche audience of girls to date/bang I don't think your mental state would change. You would still have depression.

Yes there is no hope for me. I hope the ukraine war lasts longer. Then i will slay couple girls and go to ukraine as mercenary. If i die i know i will have lived a bad meaningless failed life.

I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't cure your depression. You're already seeing a therapist I presume. It might just be a long process.
