usually I wouldnt give a copout answer to a moral dilemma but this is the real premise imo, I'm tempted to say yes because there's a lot of opportunity to be had in the apocalypse and I've got money that's practically invincible unless society completely collapses. It would actually be worth alot more since the stock market would probably implode and housing would be a mess.

Theoretically the global economy wouldn't be as brutally impacted as one might expect because of automation and the instant halving of demand but the social and political upheaval would likely implode most nations. Pretty much every state would be forced to exert martial law and consolidate industries/workplaces/schools/institutions/literally everything so that they'd be able to run on schedule, the stock market would almost certainly tank along with any other speculation markets (housing etc.). There is a genuine opportunity for global consolidation because states would be forced to work together in order to keep the global supply chain afloat but it's also pretty likely that a fairly self sufficient and heavily bureaucratic nation like China might attempt to "ride the wave" in order to come out on top of the ensuing chaos.

Overall I might if you put the button in front of me, just to see how things would turn out, but I'm not actually a psychopath so I'd probably hesitate and say no.

And then just throw money at the government and hope they make the problems go away.
