The deterioration of Stephen Hawking's face over the years should be proof enough that tongue/face muscle contributes to facial appearance.

Here he is pre-disease

Here he is with the disease but notably, he still has control over tongue and enough musculature to be able to communicate and hold up his face. His maxilla has not yet recessed behind his jaw, he still has a slight overbite.

Here he is losing his tongue musculature and ability to communicate. You can notice his face is sinking backwards and down.

Here he is after pretty much totally losing control of everything, just a vegetable moved around for publicity. His handers are writing his statements at this point. His bottom teeth are permanently exposed, the maxilla has totally melted down and back because there's no tongue musculature supporting it.

this just proves that your maxilla can become recessed with poor posture. It doesn't prove that posture and and give you forward growth

No way it was only due to muscle. Bone density was certainly also compromised.

good theory

They're the same thing

If lack of force can cause it to recede, excess force can cause it to proceed. I'm not sure that simple posture would cause forward growth, but stuff like hard mewing and facepulling has the potential to.

We all agree that mewing works in kids, but post like these raise an interesting discussion about adult cases.

Judging from the pictures, it seems like his maxilla recessed about 3cm in like 50 years. So that's about 0.06mm/year of movement per year. We could say if we exert a gentle yet consistent force, the maxilla can be moved about 0.6cm (6mm) in a decade, which will impact your face pretty significantly. However I believe you can achieve slightly fast results if you are in the 18-25 age group.

TLDR Don't expect results in less than half a decade at least if you are an adult even if u are super consistent.

Mike mew used this an an example in his videos and says he doesn't have proof for the opposite
And that's because the reasoning and logic is there

I found a reasonably similar before/after angle that potentially shows some forward growth from face pulling. It looks like the maxilla is meeting the nose a bit more closely in the after. No more than a 1-2 mm but looks relatively significant
