If it doesn't work you wont get immunity either way so you've accrued zero risk.

The main reason for the vaccine was to alleviate strains on the healthcare system in order to provide spare capacity for at risk individuals. Now that numbers have stabilized and enough people have been vaccinated there probably isn’t any pressing need to get more people inoculated. Now that vector based vaccines are being released, is that something you would consider?
