these rich owners, and bussiness owners, thought folks were gonna go back to slave wages, once the city opened up again. Alot of people took time to learn new skills and move on, but owners blame the goverment for giving people stimulus and relief checks. Covid 19 killed and changed industries for years. No one is gonna work for 15 a hour in new york, doing manual labor. Even if they make it 17-20 no one is coming, to work. Rent is like 1600-4000a month in most of the city and boroughs. Folks are doing apprenticeships, or doing some medical assistant tranning, to start off at 25 a hour.
