The 2022 Tour de France 100Kg weight requirement

In order to be more inclusive of riders of heavier weights, and increase bicycle riding in general, the Tour de France for 2022 is experimenting with a mandate that all riders and bikes must weigh at least a combined 100 Kgs (221 lbs). Ballast is being added to bikes to bring the weight to the 100 Kg mark for those bike/rider combinations that are underweight.
