My friend once had a roommate who was extremely passive-aggressive and vengeful. Instead of confronting people directly when they upset him he would quietly hold a grudge and find sneaky, harmful ways to get back at them later. His behavior was often subtle and hard to prove likeIf someone scolded or yelled at him he wouldn’t argue or defend himself. Instead, he would silently plot revengeIf someone used his laptop without permission he might later “accidentally” knock their laptop off a table without leaving any evidence it was intentional. If you humiliated or seriously offended him, he might go as far as spilling soapy water near your bed so you’d slip and fall.In more extreme cases he would deliberately sabotage important moments like he once locked a guy in his own room before an important exam due to which he had to repeat an entire semester. He once even cut off the water supply to someone’s bathroom as payback when he was showering for a minor disagreement. The guy was in there for almost 2 hours

He never owned up to any of these actions but the timing and patterns made it clear he was behind them. Living with him was like walking on eggshells any small slight could turn into a calculated act of revenge.

I had some really annoying flatmates for my first year at uni. Disgusting, dirty, and antisocial. Almost entirely curry.

Yeah, it sounds rough. Genuinely you should just drug him with chloroform and pay a homeless man to rape him, record it, then hold him at ransom.

Haha! Well, I had the misfortune of getting a brutal flat for the first year. Most people get the stereotypical lot you are imagining. @Snicket has an overhyped college tbh. The quad is rubbish. But hey! At least a fellow Oxfordcel. I miss talking to him about random things here.

Are there lots of privately educated there ? Like Etonians, Harrovians ect. I know that there’s way more state schooled students there compared to the past.

No wonder he goes there. Clearly was a smart and civilised user.

What happened to him ? Why isn’t he active anymore ?

Yes! A lot of them. Nowadays, they reduce the boundaries for DEI purposes; it’s silly. Most of the publicly schooled folk (I imagine north of 70%) are those from said DEI pushes. They get lower quality folk in return for a diversity quo.

@Snicket was a lovely fellow. Very civilised and well put. He’s probably slaying hotties in Old Quad as we speak! Last time we spoke he was getting some dutasteride capsules manufactured for himself.

That isn’t an ideal way to select students tbh. Especially for such renowned universities.

May I ask which type of school you went to ? State, Grammar/selective or private school ? I went to a selective school myself ( had to do the 11+) but I did go to a private primary school so I know a bit about that world.

Wish him all the best. One of the best users on here tbh.

Agreed. Rather detrimental if anything; they’ll soon come to regret it. You can tell the professors already don’t enjoy the change from once lecturing high-class, inquisitive, patient intellectuals, to now a heap of foreigners who have no manners nor etiquette. They try to rip statues down because they’re racist and they scream “free Palestine” during some of the presentations companies do here causing them to end prematurely.

And of course you can ask! For both primary and secondary school, I went to state school. My father always told me that he wanted me to go to school with people from various backgrounds and classes so I knew how to socialise with each and whatnot. It did help considering my job currently involves speaking to your typical labourer and they will damn right tell you to fuck off if you seem like an outsider to what they know. It’s a very subconscious thing.

He was one of my favourites too!
