Who said anything about smart people?

I'm saying that birth rates will sort itself out (in the long run though, over maybe 60-120 years)
The intelligent will behave as they usually do.
Some stay, some go. For a whole variety of reasons.

TFR will go back to 2.1 and beyond. Why?
What is holding it back right now?
In my opinion, 3 main things.
1. Cost of living.
2. New age lifestyle choices.
3. Anti-family ideologies

Clamp down on immigration. You don't even need to raise taxes or do anything else. Simply clamp down on fucking people coming in.

Property prices will drop drastically.
The economy will move towards traditional jobs that require labour and intellect. None of this stock flipping or OF shit.
The average schmuck will have a better negotiating hand when it comes to his labour and compensation and will only be competing against his fellow man.
The playing field will be evened out a little better and the need for foid contributions in the economy will weaken.
They will naturally be forced to enter roles where they are needed. This will encourage the promulgamantion of families.

Frankly, I think Japan is already on the way there. They don't take in too many people.
The old will just die off.
And the few youngies will inherit the whole island and do what nature does best. And this time they will be free from all kinds of weird Asian social norms and customs.
