Yes and no. Yes as in that poor ability to resist stressors (environmental or otherwise) during critical growth periods leads to loss of averageness and higher fluctuating asymmetry.

Think of it likes this. There is a universal tendency to DISORDER as time moves forward (this is also the 2nd law of thermodyanmics). To resist this natural tendency to disorder, it requires tremendous energy input. You need good genes to resist.
