Reasons normies would say 'The amazing spider-man' is bad, was that Andrew Garfield didn't look like a nerd, he looks too good to be spider-man or He doesn't look like a someone who could get bullied. Looks looks looks, nothing valid about the plot, cinematography, CG or acting

He looked good, and that was it. They could believe someone could get powers from a spider bite, lift 4 tons with ease, swing around Manhattan like Tarzan, but a good looking being the school outcast was too much for their brains to process. Hell, the reasons for him being the outcast made logical sense (He was a giga aspie). Tobey Magurie getting superpowers is more believable than andrew garfield not fucking emma stone. I'm willing to bet my left testicle that if Andrew was replaced with Michael Cera or Jonah Hill, this movie would be praised as the best spider-man movie, and would have 4 more sequels.

tldr Soys can't self insert cause them getting powers is more believable than them being somewhat attractive.
